American Corruption

A s a young industrial power, the United States suffered from levels of political corruption commonly associated today with impoverished nations in the developing world. This is among the findings of a new
working paper co-written by Harvard Law School Professor Matthew Stephenson ’03 and California State Supreme Court Justice and Stanford Professor Mariano-Florentino Cuellar tentatively titled “Taming Systemic Corruption: The American Experience and its Implications for Contemporary Debates,” which chronicles the history of corruption in the United States between 1865 and 1941.

I suppose that one would expect a new country to be corrupt at the beginning since it is learning how to flex its muscles globally but certainly after 1941, when everyone's economy was destroyed, the US took on the task of rebuilding the world along with Great Britain and Russia.

Instead of corruption getting better, corruption got worse as large corporations began to strongly influence the American government with money.  While that was going on the American government, also using money, began influencing the rest of the world by telling everyone that Democracy was the only honest form of government to have.

The irony here is that the US was being dishonest as it pursued global democracy and honesty.  After several years, some of the countries realized what the US was doing and tried to beat them at their own game.  The first threat came from OPEC...  They sent students to American Universities to learn economics, then used economic theory to compete against the US.

As the US grew and prospered, it not only tried to influence the rest of the world but it tried to influence politics and the economy within the USA.  This primarily came from large corporations but also came from self-made billionaires who wanted to influence the future and protect their wealth.

While there were small areas of corruption in business and government, nothing reached the level of corruption until Donald Trump became President.  As a result of his Presidency, the Democrats in their efforts to maintain their corrupt influence, have enlisted the support of large corporations, the FBI, the DOJ, and mainstream media.  In so doing, they have created two forms of justice as they try to eliminate the conservative voice altogether.

Once we have only one point of view, no one will ever be able to control our internal CORRUPTION...
