My wife and I retired in 2015, I was 67 and she was 62, and our first order of business was to plan vacations for every other month... most of which came to fruition. Typically, we would go to Myrtle Beach, SC 2-3 times a year, take a cruise, or fly down to Mexico using Frequent Flyer Points, or fly out to other places like New York City, Las Vegas or Los Angeles on our way to Hawaii.
To date, we have experienced the following vacations:
A. 12 - 7 to 12 day Cruise Excursions
- Hawaii
- Caribbean
- Alaskan
- Mediterranean
B. 3 - week long trips to Hawaii
C. 5 - trips to Las Vegas
D. 6 - week long vacations in Florida
- Daytona
- Ft. Lauderdale
- Destin
- Pensacola
- Miami
- Jupiter Island (Hobe Sound)
E. 3 - long weekends in New York City
F. 2 - week long vacations to Martha's Vineyard
G. 3 - week long vacations in Mexico
- Cancun
- Puerta Vallarta
- Quintana Roo
H. 3 - week long trips to Europe
- Spain
- France
- Italy
- Germany
- Switzerland
- England
- Greece
- Turkey

Destin, Florida
In about two weeks, my wife and I were planning a week-long vacation in a private condo at Destin, Florida at a reasonable price: about $1.300 for the week, but were very much concerned about COVID-19 and that Florida had shut down most of its public beaches. While the private beaches were still open, the rental agency with whom we had arranged the vacation was totally supportive of our concern, and readily agreed to refund our money...
This was unprecedented in that the contract that we signed had indicated that under no circumstances would our deposit be refunded...
