Most of March will be warm and flowers will start to grow... even though the buds on trees will not appear for another several weeks...
For me, that means I will be walking outside instead of the Community Center, my pool will be opened soon and the deck furniture out, and after a few more weeks, we will vacation at Myrtle Beach, and will be mowing the yard and weedeating weekly.
More time outside in the yard, soaking up the sunshine rather than staying inside.
While I have mentioned this several times, East TN is a great place to live because of the mild winter and because all other bad weather is blocked by the Smoky Mtns and the Cumberland Plateau. In addition to this damn near perfect weather, the cost of living is less that most every other place in the USA.
Younger souls miss the night life of Atlanta, Chicago, and NYC but us older souls no longer are bound by those desires and East TN is a perfect place to retire, especially if you are on a fixed income. There is no state income tax but a higher sales tax.
Our parks and recreation offerings are better than most because of TVA and all the lakes they created. We are also only an hour away from Gatlinburg and back in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains which is the #1 tourist attraction for Americans for the last several years.

Come and visit us... and, see for yourself... but, don't move here and spoil it for us...
