MOTORHOME
FIVE YEARS AGO, when I first retired, I seriously considered investing in a motorhome and traveling around the USA... going from State-to-State visiting historical sites and other landmarks and pulling a smaller vehicle in which to drive around once we had parked in a camp ground. After much thought, I decided that I did not want to drive that MUTHER around on small streets or in the downtown areas of larger cities and try to back it up in case I needed to...
Mother's Day is a celebration honoring the mother of the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in the months of March or May. It complements similar celebrations honoring family members, such as Father's Day, Siblings Day, and Grandparents Day.
The modern Mother's Day began in the United States, at the initiative of Anna Jarvis in the early 20th century. This is not (directly) related to the many traditional celebrations of mothers and motherhood that have existed throughout the world over thousands of years, such as the Greek cult to Cybele, Rhea the Great Mother of the Gods, the Roman festival of Hilaria, or the Christian Mothering Sunday celebration (originally a commemoration of Mother Church, not motherhood). However, in some countries, Mother's Day is still synonymous with these older traditions.
The U.S.-derived modern version of Mother's Day has been criticize] for having become too commercialized. Founder Jarvis herself regretted this commercialism and expressed views on how that was never her intention. SOURCE: Wikipedia

Saturday Evening
I have been staying at home since the end of February this year except for doctor's appointments that are critical, chemo infusions, and putting gasoline in the car; otherwise, I have not left the house other than to mow the yard or do other yard work. And, being forced to live like that does not brother me nor does it cause me anxiety or fill me with depression. With that said, I have missed out on a vacation to Destin, FL on the Gulf coast, going out to dinner, going out for brunch on Sundays, going to a movie theater at a nearby mall, picking up supplies at Lowes, going grocery shopping, and/or taking our cats to the Vet.
WHY have I not been out anymore than that in a State and region that has less then two dozen COVID-19 cases?
Age is an issue...
But, the main concern is that I have NO IMMUNITY due to ongoing cancer treatments...
HOWEVER,
I am retired and do not need to work which has minimized my stress. If I had needed to work, I have no doubts that I would angry that this had happened to all of us.
REFLECTING...
These last couple of months have given me the opportunity to focus on my blogs and my other writings which I may not have devoted so much time to if I had not been self-quarantining.
While at home, I have noticed:
1. How the Democrats continue to attack Trump on everything he does or does not do
2. How the mainstream media continues to be biased against Trump
3. How grateful I am that I have pulled away from the Democrats
4. How selfish and self-serving Americans are
5. How power hungry some Governors are
6. How businesses are helping the people more than I had expected
7. How much I want CHINA to be punished
8. How many local resident do not wear face masks or social distance
9. How most Americans are not self-reliant
10. How civil disobedience is growing
Time for bed and to stop all my thinking.

PEOPLE LEAVING STATES
One million people have fled New York City and the tri-state area—which encompasses Jersey, Connecticut and Long Island—in the last nine years. According to Bloomberg, almost 300 people are moving out of the area per day.
This trend is not exclusive to the New York metropolitan area. Many similar regions are seeing their residents migrate to other states. Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and San Francisco, as well as Connecticut’s Hartford, Bridgeport and New Haven, have all experienced a substantial exodus of people.
United Van Lines, the large moving truck company, keeps statistics on the flow of people. The company reports that three states in the Northeast—New Jersey, New York and Connecticut—are among the top places from which people are moving the fastest. READ MORE

American Football
Who Invented Football?
On November 6, 1869, Rutgers and Princeton played what was billed as the first college football game. However, it wasn't until the 1880s that a great rugby player from Yale, Walter Camp, pioneered rules changes that slowly transformed rugby into the new game of American Football.
Football definition:
any of several games played between two teams on a usually rectangular field having goalposts or goals at each end and whose object is to get the ball over a goal line, into a goal, or between goalposts by running, passing, or kicking: such as.

FOOTBALL (Soccer)
Origins of Soccer:
Records trace the history of soccer back more than 2,000 years ago to ancient China. Greece, Rome, and parts of Central America also claim to have started the sport; but it was England that transitioned soccer, or what the British and many other people around the world call “football,” into the game we know today.
The 17 Rules of Soccer:
Rule #1 - The Field of PlayRule #2 - The Ball
Rule #3 - The Number of Players
Rule #4 - The Player’s Equipment
Rule #5 - The Referee
Rule #6 - The Assistant Referees
Rule #7 - The Duration of the Match
Rule #8 - The Start and Restart of Play
Rule #9 - The Ball In and Out of Play
Rule #10 - Determining the Outcome of the Match
Rule #11 - Offside
Rule #12 - Fouls and Misconduct
Rule #13 - Free Kicks
Rule #14 - The Penalty Kick
Rule #15 - The Throw In

ROBOTICS
Robotics is an interdisciplinary research area at the interface of computer science and engineering. Robotics involves design, construction, operation, and use of robots. The goal of robotics is to design intelligent machines that can help and assist humans in their day-to-day lives and keep everyone safe. Wikipedia
Robots will replace humans for many jobs, just as innovative farming equipment replaced humans and horses during the industrial revolution. ... Factory floors deploy robots that are increasingly driven by machine learning algorithms such that they can adjust to people working alongside them.
There are five major fields of robotics:
There are five major fields of robotics:
Algorithms are a set of rules to be followed in calculations or other problem-solving operations, especially performed by a computer. And, it is these algorithms that control the operation of a robot.
What we generally know so far is that an Agorithm takes some input and uses mathematics and logic to produce the output. In stark contrast, an Artificial Intelligence Algorithm takes a combination of both – inputs and outputs simultaneously in order to “learn” the data and produce outputs when given new inputs.
Artificial Intelligence Algorithms (AIA)will be implanted into ROBOTS and actually have been implanted into robots already... as robots improve, AIA will improve as well... and, in 10 years it will be 2030 and AI Robots will have taken: "Robots 'to replace up to 20 million factory jobs' by 2030. Up to 20 million manufacturing jobs around the world could be replaced by robots by 2030, according to analysis firm Oxford Economics. Jun 26, 2019." SOURCE: BBC/Business

"There’s no question that technology is drastically changing the way we work, but what will the job market look like by 2050? Will 40% of roles have been lost to automation – as predicted by Oxford university economists Dr Carl Frey and Dr Michael Osborne – or will there still be jobs even if the nature of work is exceptionally different from today? To address these issues, the Guardian hosted a roundtable discussion, in association with professional services firm Deloitte, which brought together academics, authors and IT business experts.
The future of work will soon become “the survival of the most adaptable”, says Paul Mason, emerging technologies director for Innovate UK. As new technologies fundamentally change the way we work, the jobs that remain will be multifaceted and changeable.
“Workers of the future will need to be highly adaptable and juggle three or more different roles at a time,” says Anand Chopra-McGowan, head of enterprise new markets for General Assembly. So ongoing education will play a key role in helping people develop new skills..." READ MORE

What is Artificial Intelligence?
Artificial intelligence (AI) is the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computer systems. Specific applications of AI include expert systems, natural language processing (NLP), speech recognition and machine vision.
AI programming focuses on three cognitive skills: learning, reasoning and self-correction.
Learning processes. This aspect of AI programming focuses on acquiring data and creating rules for how to turn the data into actionable information. The rules, which are called algorithms, provide computing devices with step-by-step instructions for how to complete a specific task.
Reasoning processes. This aspect of AI programming focuses on choosing the right algorithm to reach a desired outcome.
Self-correction processes. This aspect of AI programming is designed to continually fine-tune algorithms and ensure they provide the most accurate results possible. READ MORE

ANCIENT ALIENS
Alien civilizations may have explored the galaxy and visited Earth already, a new study says. We just haven’t seen them recently.
A study published last month in The Astronomical Journal posits that intelligent extraterrestrial life could be taking its time to explore the galaxy, harnessing star systems' movement to make star-hopping easier.
The work is a new response to a question known as the Fermi paradox, which asks why we haven't detected signs of extraterrestrial intelligence.
The paradox was first posed by the physicist Enrico Fermi, who famously asked, "Where is everybody?" READ MORE

Males or Females?
Sexual Harassment
It is unlawful to harass a person (an applicant or employee) because of that person's sex. Harassment can include "sexual harassment" or unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical harassment of a sexual nature.
Harassment does not have to be of a sexual nature, however, and can include offensive remarks about a person's sex. For example, it is illegal to harass a woman by making offensive comments about women in general.
Both victim and the harasser can be either a woman or a man, and the victim and harasser can be the same sex.
Although the law doesn't prohibit simple teasing, offhand comments, or isolated incidents that are not very serious, harassment is illegal when it is so frequent or severe that it creates a hostile or offensive work environment or when it results in an adverse employment decision (such as the victim being fired or demoted).
The harasser can be the victim's supervisor, a supervisor in another area, a co-worker, or someone who is not an employee of the employer, such as a client or customer. SOURCE: EEOC

Homemade Soup
What I like about homemade soup is that my soups are typically filling and that I don't mind using
leftovers with which to make the soup. I have discovered which was important to me that potatoes cooked a long time will thicken any soup in case I do not want to use cornstarch or flour. And, if you use a submersible food blender on cooked potatoes, the soup becomes even thicker.
With every single soup I make and cook, I start with the following:

With every single soup I make and cook, I start with the following:
- 2 onions
- 1 green bell pepper
- 2-3 tablespoons of crushed garlic
- 5-7 stalks of celery
- 3-5 tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 tablespoon of black pepper
- 1 tablespoon of Sea Salt
- 1 can of French Onion Soup or Broth
- 1 can of water
This mixture usually cooks for about 2-3 hours on medium heat with the lid on, stirring every 10-15 minutes.
To this mixture, I COULD add the following in any combination:
- 1/4 cup of uncooked Basmati rice
- a handful of extra thin spaghetti noodles broken in half
- can(s) of beans, corn, limas, peas, potatoes
- broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, string beans
- can(s) of crushed tomatoes
- hamburger (ground), chicken, or ham
- mashed potatoes if available
- hot dogs and/or sausage cut up the size of 2-3 poker chips
