Civil disobedience is the active, professed refusal of a citizen to obey certain laws, demands, orders or commands of a government (or any other authority). By some definitions,[specify] civil disobedience has to be nonviolent to be called "civil". Hence, civil disobedience is sometimes equated with peaceful protests or nonviolent resistance.

Henry David Thoreau's essay Resistance to Civil Government, published posthumously as Civil Disobedience, popularized the term in the US, although the concept itself has been practiced longer before.

It has inspired leaders such as Susan B. Anthony of the U.S. women's suffrage movement in the late 1800s, Saad Zaghloul in the 1910s culminating in Egyptian Revolution of 1919 against British Occupation, and Mahatma Gandhi in 1920s India in their protests for Indian independence against the British Raj

Martin Luther King Jr.'s and James Bevel's peaceful protests during the civil rights movement in the 1960s United States contained important aspects of civil disobedience.

Although civil disobedience is rarely justifiable in court,King regarded civil disobedience to be a display and practice of reverence for law:

"Any man who breaks a law that conscience tells him is unjust and willingly accepts the penalty by staying in jail to arouse the conscience of the community on the injustice of the law is at that moment expressing the very highest respect for the law."

CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE: Star Trek Was SOCIALISM

It is only fitting that today, the day that President elect Biden is sworn into office and the Democrats control the House and the Senate that we explore the origins of SOCIALISM in the US of A...   and, it is believed, at least by me, that the origins of SOCIALISM did not start with our Government providing services to the general public like:  education, transportation, parks & recreation, unemployment, social security, and medicate, but that SOCIALISM in the US of A started with the television show STAR TREK...  because it captured and forever locked in the heats and souls of the American Public into thinking that it was perfectly natural for the government to provide you with everything.

STAT TREK was about a UTOPIAN world in the future where there were still hundreds of countries on EARTH but only ONE GOVERNMENT:  The Federation of Planets...

Can you imagine China, Russia, North Korea, the Middle East, Europe, South America, Africa, Australia agreeing to be controlled by ONE GOVERNMENT?

With that said...
everything in one's life was provided for FREE OF CHARGE...  housing, food, clothing, allowance of money, education, healthcare, etc.   and, if you did not want to work, then you did not have to work but your share of the pie would ONLY BE BASIC...

The more you offered to society through education, experience, and the desire to WORK, the greater your share of the PIE...  like a bigger house, a bigger allowance, more food, a bigger vehicle, better vacations, better seats on an airplane...  etc.

  • There was no JEALOUSY
  • There was no ANGER
  • There was no HATRED
  • There was no RACISM
  • There was no EXTRMARITAL AFFAIRS
  • There were no WARS BETWEEN COUNTRIES
  • There was NO DIRTY POLITICS
  • There was NO BIASED MEDIA

Everyone from EARTH was considered an EARTHLING with NO COUNTRY AFFILIATIONS[...

There was UNIVERSAL HARMONY...

BROUGHT ABOUT BY THIS BRAND OF SOCIALISM...

And, the American people bought it...  hook, line, and sinker...

Civil Disobedience: Healthcare

I have served in the military for 6 years and have witnessed first hand government incompetence when it comes to MANAGING ANYTHING in the military.   The military is a business and can manage itself and does so very nicely, but when the Federal Government becomes involved EVERYTHING GOES TO SHIT...

Once a quarter, our naval ship, the USS RECOVERY, was given a new budget, but unless we spent all the money from our previous budget, then the next quarter's budget would be REDUCED...  once you are reduced it is almost impossible to ADD BACK...

SO...
when in port, we would have beer ball games on the base, prepare too much food and have to throw it away rather than give it away to the poor.  We would also take the ship out into the ocean at least 3 miles so we could be in international waters and dump tools and equipment overboard so that we would have to replace the items...

All of this was intentionally so that our budget would not be reduced.

We have all seen the incompetence of the US POST OFFICE as it attempts to deliver mail and why UPS and FedEx were started in competition...  and now with EMAILS, we don't really need the USPO at all.

Have you ever gotten tangled up in the RED TAPE of a MILITARY HOSPITAL?
It is and can be a NIGHTMARE...

It is not UNCOMMON, for city workers to congregate and watch each other work and still get paid by tax dollars.

I my city, I recently drove by a group of city workers fixing a pipe near the road, and I counted 6 workers simply standing around watching a 7th down in a hole with a shovel.  There was an 8th man sitting in a pickup truck and a 9th man sitting in the seat of a front end loader.

This type of observation has been commonplace throughout my adult life living in VA, NC, KY, and TN including places that I have visited for vacation.

So,
we have waste in the military
we have waste in the USPO
we have waste in city government

NOW...
HERE'S THE QUESTION???

Do you think there would be waste in MEDICARE FOR ALL?

UNREST in America

We spent the last six month or more watching BLM and ANTIFA stage riots all across the USA because a WHITE COP KILLED A BLACK MAN...  and, the mainstream media said that these were peaceful riots even when building were burning behind their "live" reporting....  Hypocrisy at its worst....   now, we have TRUMP SUPPORTERS who stormed and entered the US Capital bldg. and they are called DOMESTIC TERRORISTS even though there was no burning of buildings, but there was rioting and looting and some occupation of offices...   DOUBLE STANDARDS...

Even when this latest activity comes under control and the perpetrators are taken to courts, sentenced, and jailed, the part of the USA that voted for TRUMP will still see DOUBLE STANDARDS and will not let this go away.

It is entirely possible that due to DECREASED POLICE FUNDING in certain cities, BLM, ANTIFA, and Trump Supporters will travel to those cities to continue their protests against the government...

CIVIL DISOBEDIANCE is what it is called and it is one of the few tools available to the general public to use against a CORRUPT GOVERNMENT outside of voting...

Thoreau's Civil Disobedience espouses the need to prioritize one's conscience over the dictates of laws. It criticizes American social institutions and policies, most prominently slavery and the Mexican-American War.

Thoreau begins his essay by arguing that government rarely proves itself useful and that it derives its power from the majority because they are the strongest group, not because they hold the most legitimate viewpoint.

He contends that people's first obligation is to do what they believe is right and not to follow the law dictated by the majority. When a government is unjust, people should refuse to follow the law and distance themselves from the government in general.

A person is not obligated to devote his life to eliminating evils from the world, but he is obligated not to participate in such evils. This includes not being a member of an unjust institution (like the government).

Thoreau further argues that the United States fits his criteria for an unjust government, given its support of slavery and its practice of aggressive war.  SOURCE: SparkNotes.com

Since African American Blacks still perceive that the USA in general support SLAVERY in a variety of ways and since the USA military is still fighting an unnecessary war in the MIDDLE EAST, one could easily make the case for an UNJUST GOVERNMENT still existing in the USA as defined by THOREAU...

DEMOCRATS and REPUBLICANS should UNITE..
The enemy of my enemy is my FRIEND...
Stand up against an UNJUST US GOVERNMENT...
UNITED in CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE...

SOCIAL UNREST

This video clip aired 3 weeks ago...

Social Unrest:  is characterized by the general dissatisfaction of a group and the unconventional and sometimes violent ways people tend to show it. One example is rioting or when a large group of people behaves in a violent and uncontrolled way.

According to Wikipedia:
Civil disorder, also known as civil disturbance or civil unrest, is an activity arising from a mass act of civil disobedience (such as a demonstration, riot, or strike) in which the participants become hostile toward authority, and authorities incur difficulties in maintaining public safety and order, over the disorderly crowd.  It is, in any form, prejudicial to public law and order.

Social Unrest or Civil Disobedience whichever way you want to go, will cost Trump the election this year...   our economy and economic growth is not as important to us as social unrest is and has become...  unfortunately, this social unrest will result in a soon to take place RACE WAR...

CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE

Henry David Thoreau

Civil Disobedience
is the refusal to comply with certain laws or to pay taxes and fines, as a peaceful form of political protest.

Resistance to Civil Government
, called Civil Disobedience for short, is an essay by American transcendentalist Henry David Thoreau that was first published in 1849. In it, Thoreau argues that individuals should not permit governments to overrule or atrophy their consciences, and that they have a duty to avoid allowing such acquiescence to enable the government to make them the agents of injustice. Thoreau was motivated in part by his disgust with slavery and the Mexican–American War (1846–1848).

Rosa Parks was arrested in 1955 for refusing to give up her seat to a white passenger on a bus. The act of civil disobedience made Parks an icon of the Civil Rights Movement.

GUESS WHAT'S INTERESTING HERE?    All over the world, those people who demonstrate CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE are not wealthy or powerful...
