The Sixth Day
…26Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness, to rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, and over all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it.”
…26Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness, to rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, and over all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it.”
27So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and every creature that crawls upon the earth.”…
Here is the FIRST PROBLEM... the use of LET US... the way this is used indicate plural or more than one. So, who is this God referring to? I suppose the logical conclusion is that he is talking about, God, the Son, and the Holy Ghost... if that is true, then plural is the right way to phrase this.
This also suggests that God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost are identical in appearance... that is to say, with no deviations at all... even the slightest deviation could alter the physical appearance of man.
Here is also the SECOND PROBLEM... mankind is not identical to each other outside of the organs inside the body.
- Different hair color
- Different sking tones
- Different physical beauty
- Different color eyes
- Different height and width
- Different intelligence
- Different physical abilities
- Different genders (male/female)
SO... is God male or female? is Jesus male or female? is the holy ghost male or female?
Which image did God take?
NOTE: if the Bible is to be a learning tool and a guide, why does it have this discrepancy?
- Does God have red, black, or yellow hair?
- Is God short or tall... thin or fat?
- What color eyes does God have?
If this three points are meaningless and should be ignored, in WHAT LIKENESS did God make man?
And, in what likeness did God make woman? especially since she is physically different than man.
Many religious scholars would have us ignore or disregard these issues as they have little to do with having belief in God and hope/faith in Jesus... however, I say that it does make a difference as it goes to the Bible's CREDIBILITY... If it is confusing or unclear on these points, what other points might be just as unclear... like how long has CREATION been in existence?
The Bible says 6,000 years.
Scientists say that the universe is billions of years old.
WHO IS CORRECT?
And does this lack of accuracy impact LIFE AFTER DEATH?
