Prosecutors Have the Ability to Decline Criminal Charges

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's chief prosecutor, Meg Reiss, has previously said that prosecutors can ignore the rule of law and supplant their own ideology into prosecution decisions.

Chief Assistant District Attorney Reiss said in 2017 that prosecutors can use their power to ignore mandatory minimum laws at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

"Nobody understands the amount of discretion that prosecutors have," Reiss said. She stressed the independent "power" they have to decline prosecution cases can effect systemic change in the criminal justice system, which she believes is racist.

"You know if [prosecutors] don't charge a crime, a judge can't sentence to that crime. If police officers make certain arrests, they [can] declin[e] to prosecute… And police officers can keep making… arrests but if the prosecutor decides not to prosecute that then that's it."

"At the federal level, talking about getting legislation passed in Congress to not have mandatory minimums or not… prosecutors unilaterally in each jurisdiction can do that on their own without any type of legislation statutorily not required. And they can choose what they want to charge and what not to charge, how they want to charge it, what to prosecute, what outcomes should be. They really have all of that power in their offices. But nobody understands that."

Reiss made the statements while heading the Institute for Innovation on Prosecution, an organization she founded in 2016 which collaborates with prosecution offices, including the Manhattan DA, to bring about racial equity reforms.

The institute believes in an ideologically driven approach to prosecution that takes into account historical factors. For example, the Institute argued in a report, signed with Reiss' name, that prosecutors must focus on "acknowledging our nation’s shameful history of slavery and racism which continues to cloud the criminal justice system."

About criminals, she has consistently argued for leniency and more understanding, including for those harming victims with violent assaults.

"So one of the first things [to] do is change the language: ‘the bad dude.’ What does that mean? What are the circumstances of that person coming into the criminal justice system in the first place? And what is the background to that person?" Reiss said.  READ MORE...

Democrat Assaulted In HOME

Paul Pelosi, husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, was "violently assaulted" by someone who broke into his San Francisco home early Friday, according to her spokesperson.

The suspect is in custody, her spokesperson, Drew Hammill, said in a statement.

Paul Pelosi, 82, is in the hospital and "is expected to make a full recovery," Hammill said.

Nancy Pelosi was in Washington, D.C., with her protective detail at the time, according to the Capitol Police.

The motive is under investigation, Hammill said.

The Capitol Police, FBI and San Francisco Police Department are all involved in the investigation. The San Francisco District Attorney's Office said the case will be handled locally. Charges are forthcoming but have not yet been filed, the district attorney's office said.

"The Speaker and her family are grateful to the first responders and medical professionals involved, and request privacy at this time," Hammill added.

Crime and Violence

We have had the second amendment since 1776 and while this amendment is designed for law abiding citizens, any half way intelligent person knows that criminals are going to find a way to provide themselves with weapons...  and, if the government and other reasonable people think that making it more difficult to own firearms is going to cut down on shooting deaths, then perform a GOOGLE search and see how easy it is to find step by step directions on how to make a bomb.

If a crazy person wants to kill people for whatever reason, would you rather have those deaths be the result of a bomb explosion or bullets from a semi-automatic weapon?

Personally, I don't want either to happen but how do you think AMERICA is doing on its war with illegal drugs?

Why do Americans purchase more illegal drugs than anywhere else in the world?

We have all sorts of police forces and narcotics squads trying to stop the flow of illegal drugs and yet those people who want them always find a way to procure them...  

Should we do away with the police because they cannot stop crime?

HUMAN NATURE dictates that the more you tell me that I cannot do something the more I am going to want to do it...

Right now, our police department is perceived as being NO LONGER APPROPRIATE to regulate Americans in cities...  but, those complaints are coming from BLACK AMERICANS not WHITE AMERICANS.  It would appear that WHITES have no problems with police and BLACKS have a problem with police because they perceive that LAW ENFORCEMENT (including both whites and blacks) are RACIALLY PROFILING them.

SO...  why is a black law enforcement person, RACIALLY PROFILING another black person?

There are ENLIGHTENED POLITICIANS called LIBERAL DEMOCRATS who believe that if we pour a ton of money into our cities and give blacks a better place to live, better education, better healthcare, and a reason to grow up successful, that it will reduce crime, especially in our inner cities.

HELL...  I think it is worth a try...  and, we should with all due haste dismantle our police departments and use that money to give blacks more opportunities.  Perhaps, we should give them THE EXACT SAME OPPORTUNITIES that the blacks perceive the whites received automatically.  NOT MORE...  just the same.

WHAT DO WE DO WITH ALL THE LAID OFF LAW ENFORCEMENT employees?

Who gives a shit about them...  we just care about BLACKS...

It is important for BLACKS TO PERCEIVE that WHITE AMERICA EMBRACES them in the same way that it has embraced whites...  except, the embracing that this country does is not for EVERY WHITE...  just the WEALTHY WHITES...

Retiring Law Enforcement

All over the United States, law enforcement personnel are retiring and/or leaving their jobs because the general public no longer has respect for them...  in addition, the general public is calling for the defunding of the police departments and some members of the US Congress want to abolish the police altogether...

I think this a great idea for America...

We do not need the police...

However, if the general public cannot have the police then elected officials should not have the police either...  whereas, if you are wealthy you can do anything damn thing that you want to do...  and, believe it or not...  the wealthy have been doing that for decades...

I like the idea of violent cities that perpetuate the increase of illegal drugs and crimes...  as long as it stays in these larger cities, it will not move out to the rural areas of the country...  where people like me live.

My wife and I are going on vacation soon and it would be nice to drive as fast as I want to without concern that highway patrol are hiding behind some blind spot trying to give people like me speeding tickets instead of protecting the citizens against violence.

Keep up the good work...  those of you who want to defund the police...  I support your efforts.

Also, I think more and more law enforcement people all over the United States should retire and find some other kind of job like building solar panels or windmills.

SWEDEN: Falling Crime

According to Breitbart writer Chris Tomlinson:

Police in the multicultural southern Swedish city of Malmö say that the murder rate has fallen since 2018 because many gang leaders are behind bars.

In 2020, the city saw five murders, a major drop from the 13 that took place in 2018 and eight in 2019.

Mattias Sigfridsson, deputy police area manager in Malmö, told broadcaster SVT that the hacking of an encrypted app used by criminals called EncroChat has helped police prevent murders and violent crimes.

“[W]e believe we have prevented murder and serious violent crimes. That has been our goal all along – to lock up those who are responsible for the violence. We have also received valuable information from EncroChat, the encrypted chat we have taken part in. This has, of course, affected our ability to prevent crime,” Sigfridsson said.

EncroChat was breached last year by investigators and led to the arrest of more than 700 organised criminals linked to drug trafficking, gun smuggling, and money laundering in the United Kingdom alone. As of December 2020, more than a thousand criminals who used the service had been arrested.

While Malmö has seen a reduction in murders last year, just one of the five cases has actually been solved. Two others await trial and the remaining two cases have no suspects at all. Several murders from previous years also remain unsolved.

2020 was also a high year for fatal shootings across Sweden, with 47 people killed in shootings compared to 42 in 2019 and 45 in 2018. The number of overall shootings also increased from 2019.

In Stockholm, 2020 saw a record number of explosions and bombings despite the Wuhan virus pandemic, but explosions and bombings across the entire country were down to 107 from 133 in 2019.

Robert Karlsson, deputy regional police chief in Stockholm, said that while he was not satisfied with the number of explosions last year, police had managed to develop tools to better investigate bombing cases.  TO READ ENTIRE ARTICLE, CLICK HERE...

As I have mentioned many times before, I am living in the Tennessee Valley of East TN and as far as I am concerned, it is an IDEAL place to live, especially if one is retired...   because of:

• its lower cost of living index
• its lack of urban influences

NOTE:   Not everyone is suited for this type of lifestyle...  but, let me assure you that we have local watering holes that serve beer, wine, and alcohol.  We have illegal drugs being sold to our elementary school children and high school students.  We have local prostitutes and call girls.  We have several members of the Mexican Drug Cartels living in our area as well.  We have political crimes and influence peddling.  We have telephone scams and computer hacking and all sorts of people trying to get access to our data to perpetrate a variety of crimes against us.

TODAY...

there is a light rain falling instead of snow.  The temps are in the 40's but will rise to the 50's but it is doubtful that we will have all the sunshine that we had yesterday.  Each day, the light extends the day against darkness by ONE MINUTE....  so, we are getting closer to spring and the rebirth of nature.  All our bushes will blow and grow.  All our flowers will return.  The Japanese Maple that I cut back will sprout new limbs as will the Crepe Myrle that surrounds our pool.

REGRETS...

My physical health and all the cuts I have on my body and all the recent procedures I have had, have kept me out of my HOT TUB for almost a month.  But, as they heal, I will return to its warmth and once again sit in the warmth of its waters and look up and see all the stars in the absolutely clear night sky.

Defund The Police

One of the major reasons why I like driving in the State of TN is because there are LESS HIGHWAY PATROLMEN in TN than there are in the States of:  NC, VA, and MD in which I have driven and been awarded SPEEDING TICKETS being an out-of-state driver...

REASON:  MORE COPS IN THOSE STATES THEREFORE ODDS INCREASE...

And, while Highway Patrolmen are not City/County Police, they are still part of law enforcement and the more COPS you have, the LESS CRIME IS COMMMITTED...  it's just logical.

Defunding the police movements are currently underway in several cities in this country and if those police department are in fact defunded, then crime will increase...

WHY DO I SAY THIS?

Common sense is the answer...

Americans CANNOT REGULATE THEMSELVES to follow the LAW.

We can easily see this when it comes to voluntarily wearing face masks in public during the COVID-19 Pandemic...

Once local authorities made it mandatory, people when being observed followed the mandate but if there were no monitors around, their masks were removed...

Americans buy more illegal drugs than any other country in the world.  It is a FACT that people under the influence of drugs commit more crimes.

You are being silly and foolish if you cannot see this...

Americans need law enforcement otherwise they will not obey the laws...
