Halloween

What is the significance of HALLOWEEN?

Halloween's origins can be traced back to the ancient Celtic festival known as Samhain, which was held on November 1 in contemporary calendars. It was believed that on that day, the souls of the dead returned to their homes, so people dressed in costumes and lit bonfires to ward off spirits.  SOURCE:  Britannica

I don't know and I don't care when TRICK OR TREAT was added but I am glad that this practice is fading away.

People are really cruel and mentally misguided when they hide things in the candy that can hurt children.  Most parents only take children to a few houses that they know the owners.

The other aspect of that, equally as negative, is all the candy that children ingest on that night.  That cannot be good for their health, especially their teeth.

Costumes are another ridiculous expense that some people have and many of those less intelligent people spend hundreds of dollars on their costumes just to wear at work for one day, not the mention the outside decorations that some people like to put up.

Many Christian families will not let their children celebrate Halloween because it is a PAGAN celebration not a Christian one.  That also seems kind of silly to me as well, because kids aren't trying to change their beliefs, they are just trying to have a little fun.
