Transforming Copper Wire into a Cosmic Furnace

Using a novel laser method, scientists mimicked the extreme environments of stars and planets, enhancing our understanding of astrophysical phenomena and supporting nuclear fusion research.

Extreme conditions prevail inside stars and planets. The pressure reaches millions of bars, and it can be several million degrees hot. Sophisticated methods make it possible to create such states of matter in the laboratory – albeit only for the blink of an eye and in a tiny volume. 

So far, this has required the world’s most powerful lasers, such as the National Ignition Facility (NIF) in California. But there are only a few of these light giants, and the opportunities for experiments are correspondingly rare.

A research team led by the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR), together with colleagues from the European XFEL, has now succeeded in creating and observing extreme conditions with a much smaller laser.

Living Alone VERSUS With Someone

My post has very little to do with an actual marriage although, being married is at the heart of living together.  What do I mean by that?

When two people live together, married or not, they must find a way to deal with or accept those traits that are disliked or frowned upon.

When two people live together, unmarried, the likelihood that the male will help out more around the house is increased because they are, in essence, roommates.  Roommates share duties and responsibilities is typically the norm or you find another roommate.

When a couple is married, the male has a tendency to do the outside work while the female does the inside work.  However, most outside work is mowing the lawn, weed eating, and lawn maintenance, deck painting, and pressure washing house.

If you put the eagle eye on this, outside maintenance is not done daily or weekly throughout the year like inside work is done...  hence, the wife is always left with having to do more work.

But work is not the only issue with living or not living together.

Wives tend to bitch more at their lazy husbands either for not doing this or that but also for how they are dressed and/or take care of themselves.  Husbands typically don't give a shit about their appearance whether they are going out or staying at home.

Wives always seem to be caring about their appearance as if they are going on a date everyday even on the weekends, although the makeup is usually not put on as heavily.

As a result of being bitched at, husband do one or more of the following:

• go hunting or fishing
• take up golf
• go drinking with the guys
• play poker with the guys
• volunteer somewhere
• get a second job
• spend more time outside

Now, there are some advantages to being married versus not being married:

• you are always with someone
• you are always doing things together
• you have someone to sleep next to
• you combine incomes
• you make decisions together
• you are cared for when sick
• you are very seldom lonely

HOWEVER...

I would suspect that most of the people who live alone, do so because they want to and they don't need or want another person sharing their life all the time.

I suspect that living alone is also cheaper even with combined income.

But, for those who got divorced, living alone can be a nightmare at times, living the divorcee bitter, angry, with no desire to ever trust again.

It is for this reason, I believe, that most couples stay married whether they want to stay married or not, falsely influencing the results of living together.

Here are some literacy statistics for the United States:

• Literacy rate: 79% of US adults are literate, while 21% are illiterate.
• Literacy level: 54% of adults have a literacy level below 6th grade, and 20% are below 5th grade.
• Functional illiteracy: 45 million adults are functionally illiterate, meaning they read below a 5th grade level.
• Reading habits: 44% of adults do not read a book in a year.
• State literacy rates: Minnesota and New Hampshire have the highest literacy scores, while Louisiana, Mississippi, and New Mexico have the lowest.
• Cost of low literacy: Low literacy rates cost the US up to $2.2 trillion per year.
• Reading for enjoyment: Fewer children are reading for enjoyment.
• Reading challenges: Many adults face challenges with basic reading tasks

Van Gogh's Starry Night

Scientists recently analyzed Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night to see how well its famous swirls matched up with known atmospheric physics.

After analysis, they found that not only did the shapes match up with our current ideas of atmospheric turbulence, but the colors used throughout the piece communicated fairly accurate physics at a remarkably small scale.

Researchers think that Van Gogh could have come to understand these movements by “studying the movement of clouds and the atmosphere, or that he could have just had “an innate sense of how to capture the dynamism of the sky.”

The swirling colors and flowing brushstrokes of Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night have secured the painting (and its artist) a place among the all-time greats. As a piece of art, Starry Night is undeniably beautiful, but beauty alone is often not enough to keep a painting so cemented in the minds and hearts of the public.

Beyond just being beautiful, Starry Night somehow manages to capture the feeling of a clear night sky. Capturing feeling may be the whole point of impressionism—Van Gogh is himself most often labeled a post-impressionist, a style separate from true impressionism that nonetheless uses many impressionist techniques—but Starry Night does a singular job at managing it. What Do We Know?

 

We know several things actually...

First - we know that we have a problem with illegal immigration that started almost four years ago.

Second - we know that we have a problem with inflation (even though it has come down a tad) that started almost four years ago.

Third - we know we have a problem with crime and violence in our big cities that started almost four years ago.

Fourth - we know that we have a problem with Fentanyl that started almost four years ago.

Fifth - we know we have wars and rumors of war breaking out all over the world that started almost four years ago.

As someone who is not very smart, I am seeing a trend here...  all five of these items started about four years ago when Biden became our President.  Now, I have heard over and over again, that these five items are not Biden's fault that they were actually caused during the Trump administration.

Well...  assuming that to be true, then why hasn't BIDEN FIXED THE PROBLEM, or does he believe that since he thinks he did not cause it, then he should not have to fix it.

I am not sure I see the logic in that, but I believe that is the narrative that mainstream media is pushing.

So, if Trump caused the problem and Biden does not want to fix it because he did not cause it, then logically we should return Trump to the white house so he can fix HIS OWN DAMN PROBLEMS.

I have had a membership on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter/X.  On LinkedIn and Facebook, my accounts were hacked and several items were posted that violated the rules about which I knew nothing, so I was KICKED OFF.

I stayed off of social media for several years but after Elon Musk purchased Twitter/X, I decided maybe I should try it out again.

LISTEN TO ME CAREFULLY...

On all three of these social media platforms, there are females that are trying to scam you out of your money, or sell their bodies online, or photos of their bodies to fools who want to pay the money to buy that crap.

No one knows if the people to whom you are talking are REAL or FAKE.

My suggestion is if you have to go on one of these social media forums, do so, but stay away from the women, even those who claim to be married and just want to fool around a little.

A Particle of Gravity Glimpsed

Gravitons, the particles thought to carry gravity, have never been seen in space – but something very similar has been detected in a semiconductor.

Physicists have been searching for gravitons, the hypothetical particles thought to carry gravity, for decades. These have never been detected in space, but graviton-like particles have now been seen in a semiconductor. Using these to understand gravitons’ behaviour could help unite the general theory of relativity and quantum mechanics, which have long been at odds.

“This is a needle in a haystack [finding]. And the paper that started this whole thing is from way back in 1993,” says Loren Pfeiffer at Princeton University.
