Broken Promises

Time and time again, we believe politicians when they say they are going to do this or this, even when they have in the past, broken their promises....

Why are we so acceptive of these broken promises?

I recall when I was growing up, my parents made promises to me and my siblings about what they were going to do, only to renege on those promises down the road.  After so many times of this repeat performance, I began to come to the conclusion that they made those promises to SHUT US UP and had no intentions of ever fulfilling those promises.

How did this influence my opinion of promises?

I believe most politicians, but not all, started out as parents first and so they learned how to make promises that they had no intentions of fulfilling.

Consequently, the general public has also been children and have experience with their parent's breaking promises.

  • Hard to believe that we live in a world like this.
  • Hard to believe that we live in a country like this.
  • Hard to believe parents and politicians are similar.

As a parent myself, I don't recall ever making a promise to my daughter that I did not fulfill, except maybe one that revolved around me not getting a divorce from her mother.  But whether I had promised that or not, she knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that our divorce was imminent.

Still, it is an interesting comparison that between parents and politicians that make promises and then break them.  AND, it is interesting how, we the general public, keep accepting those promises and forgiving them when the promises are broken.

NASA: Past Life on Mars

  • In its ancient past, Mars likely contained many of the necessarily ingredients for microbial life to flourish on its surface.
  • Now, a new discovery by NASA’s Perseverance rover shows a trifecta of compelling evidence—including the presence of water, organic compounds, and a chemical energy source—all on one rock located in the Jezero Crater.
  • Although this is the best clue yet that microbial life existed on Mars, there are still other explanations that could explain this geologic display without the existence of microbes.

Is there life on Mars” is a question that has vexed astrobiologists and David Bowie alike. While the latter imagined some macabre collection of arachnids on the Red Planet, NASA scientists are fixated on finding evidence that microbial life once flourished on the fourth rock from the Sun. So fixated, in fact, that the space agency has spent more than $5 billion getting two immensely complicated robotic rovers—Curiosity and Perseverance—onto the Martian surface with this specific microbial mission in mind.     READ MORE...

AI Humanoid Robots

  • The general consensus is that robots will take over most jobs in the next 5-10 years which is 2029-2039.
  • However, the 2020 World Economic Forum predicted that this would happen by 2025.  It would appear that their timetable was off.
  • Other experts are saying that only 30% of jobs will be lost to AI Robots by 2035.

Last year, China said the following:
Chi
na says humanoid robots are new engine of growth, pushes for mass production by 2025 and world leadership by 2027.

Elon Musk has also stated that he will start mass producing AI Humanoid Robots in 2025 as well.

It has been my experience that in some cases changes happen slower sometimes and in other cases changes happen faster.  Which means that there is a 50/50 probability that the experts are both correct and incorrect.

My feeling just based upon what I have observed and read is that AI Humanoid Robots will be replacing jobs slowly at first, then the replacement will accelerate and when all is said and done, it will be at least 80% complete by 2030.

However, I am NO EXPERT...

But I agree with China when they say that robots are the engine of growth...  so, along with other technology to push growth faster, if I was a businessman, I would want this change to take place as quickly as possible, if not sooner.

The sooner this happens the sooner increased revenues will be realized, and the human worker will be forgotten.

With this said, the world has about FIVE YEARS to prepare for this TRANSITIONAL CHANGE...

  1. What will you do if your job is replace by a robot?
  2. Will you go for some kind of re-training?
  3. What jobs can a robot not perform well?
  4. Where can you get this training?
  5. Have you got enough money saved?
  6. How much debt to you carry?
  7. Can you relocate?
