Three Dimensions Plus Time Plus...

Most of us don't give a rat's ass about physics or how physics influences our world...  we just eat, sleep, fornicate, defecate, and work when we want, taking a little time along the way to enjoy ourselves with a little alcohol or a little weed...

We don't think of our world has having dimensions:

  • length
  • width
  • depth
  • time
But...  that is exactly the world in which we live...  whether we like it or not...  or pay attention to it or not...  all of our behavior, dreams, and goals revolve around these four dimensions.

Some believe that there might be a fifth dimension other than the musical group that is so tiny we cannot see it...  that exists inside the other four dimensions.

If you were to point one of your fingers out on your hand and then move that pointed finger from left to right, its path would be some sort of straight line albeit diagonal in nature.  But what if you rotated that finger around in a circle while you were moving it from left to right...  You would be creating a rolled up dimension that isn't readily available to the eyes unless it is seen by the rotational movement of this finger.

Now we have a curved up (like a hollow cylinder) dimension in which things take place that are not necessarily seen in four dimensional world...

What comes to mind here is WIND...

However, this idea presupposes that everything is inside our 4 dimensions.  It does not take into consideration that our 4 dimensions are actually inside a 5th dimension.   As if our 4 dimensional universe from the beginning to the end, is actually curved like a hollow cylinder around us...

Taking this further, the beginning of time is the same as the ending of time and there is no concept of time at all, because everything happens simultaneously...  the past, present, future...  all happening at the same time because our world is curved front to back and left to right.

Quantum Entanglement: Spacetime is an illusion

This past December, the physics Nobel Prize was awarded for the experimental confirmation of a quantum phenomenon known for more than 80 years: entanglement. As envisioned by Albert Einstein and his collaborators in 1935, quantum objects can be mysteriously correlated even if they are separated by large distances. But as weird as the phenomenon appears, why is such an old idea still worth the most prestigious prize in physics?

Coincidentally, just a few weeks before the new Nobel laureates were honored in Stockholm, a different team of distinguished scientists from Harvard, MIT, Caltech, Fermilab and Google reported that they had run a process on Google’s quantum computer that could be interpreted as a wormhole. Wormholes are tunnels through the universe that can work like a shortcut through space and time and are loved by science fiction fans, and although the tunnel realized in this recent experiment exists only in a 2-dimensional toy universe, it could constitute a breakthrough for future research at the forefront of physics.

But why is entanglement related to space and time? And how can it be important for future physics breakthroughs? Properly understood, entanglement implies that the universe is “monistic”, as philosophers call it, that on the most fundamental level, everything in the universe is part of a single, unified whole. It is a defining property of quantum mechanics that its underlying reality is described in terms of waves, and a monistic universe would require a universal function.

Already decades ago, researchers such as Hugh Everett and Dieter Zeh showed how our daily-life reality can emerge out of such a universal quantum-mechanical description. But only now are researchers such as Leonard Susskind or Sean Carroll developing ideas on how this hidden quantum reality might explain not only matter but also the fabric of space and time.

Entanglement is much more than just another weird quantum phenomenon. It is the acting principle behind both why quantum mechanics merges the world into one and why we experience this fundamental unity as many separate objects. At the same time, entanglement is the reason why we seem to live in a classical reality. It is—quite literally—the glue and creator of worlds.

Entanglement applies to objects comprising two or more components and describes what happens when the quantum principle that “everything that can happen actually happens” is applied to such composed objects. Accordingly, an entangled state is the superposition of all possible combinations that the components of a composed object can be in to produce the same overall result. It is again the wavy nature of the quantum domain that can help to illustrate how entanglement actually works.

Picture a perfectly calm, glassy sea on a windless day. Now ask yourself, how can such a plane be produced by overlaying two individual wave patterns? One possibility is that superimposing two completely flat surfaces results again in a completely level outcome. But another possibility that might produce a flat surface is if two identical wave patterns shifted by half an oscillation cycle were to be superimposed on one another, so that the wave crests of one pattern annihilate the wave troughs of the other one and vice versa. If we just observed the glassy ocean, regarding it as the result of two swells combined, there would be no way for us to find out about the patterns of the individual swells.

What sounds perfectly ordinary when we talk about waves has the most bizarre consequences when applied to competing realities. If your neighbor told you she had two cats, one live cat and a dead one, this would imply that either the first cat or the second one is dead and that the remaining cat, respectively, is alive—it would be a strange and morbid way of describing one’s pets, and you may not know which one of them is the lucky one, but you would get the neighbor’s drift. Not so in the quantum world.

In quantum mechanics, the very same statement implies that the two cats are merged in a superposition of cases, including the first cat being alive and the second one dead and the first cat being dead while the second one lives, but also possibilities where both cats are half alive and half dead, or the first cat is one-third alive, while the second feline adds the missing two-thirds of life. In a quantum pair of cats, the fates and conditions of the individual animals get dissolved entirely in the state of the whole. Likewise, in a quantum universe, there are no individual objects. All that exists is merged into a single “One.”  READ MORE...

Hyperautomation

Hyperautomation is a business-driven, disciplined approach that organizations use to rapidly identify, vet and automate as many business and IT processes as possible. Hyperautomation involves the orchestrated use of multiple technologies, tools or platforms, including: artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, event-driven software architecture, robotic process automation (RPA), business process management (BPM) and intelligent business process management suites (iBPMS), integration platform as a service (iPaaS), low-code/no-code tools, packaged software, and other types of decision, process and task automation tools.

Hyperautomation is the extension of legacy business process automation beyond the confines of individual processes. By marrying AI tools with RPA, hyperautomation enables automation for virtually any repetitive task executed by business users.

It even takes it to the next level and automates the automation - dynamically discovering business processes and creating bots to automate them. Hyperautomation was identified by Gartner as one of the year’s top 10 strategic technology trends.

With a range of tools like Robotic Process Automation (RPA), machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI), working in harmony to automate complex business processes—including where subject matter experts were once required—hyperautomation is a means for real digital transformation.

How does Hyperautomation work?

According to Gartner, RPA enriched by AI and ML becomes the core enabling technology of hyperautomation. Combining RPA and AI technologies offers the power and flexibility to automate where automation was never possible before: undocumented processes that rely on unstructured data inputs.  READ MORE...

That's How We Does

It would appear that social media forums are full of young females, typically under 30, who are trying to sell you something for a variety of reasons:

Some say that they are single parents, who just lost their job and are in need of money for food...  a variation of this is they are living with a sick mother, and the lost job is still there...  being a single parent is optional.

Some are tying to sell you an opportunity to invest in cyber currency or bit coin, and claim to be 100% legit with company documents and certifications, and other stuff to make them appear authentic.  They claim that they are doing business all over the world but only through these social media forums.

Some are offering investment opportunities that will turn hundreds into thousands and have all kinds of affidavits from people who claim to have made money with them...  however, when you communicate with them, one quickly discovers how inappropriate their grammar is, which leads one to quickly believe they are con artists...  hence the title of this posting.

I am a member of both LinkedIn and Facebook and joined both of them for networking opportunities and to share information with colleagues.  While on LinkedIn I posted hundreds of opinion articles, but someone hacked my profile and posted a piece that got me permanently banned...  and, the only way I could prove my innocence was to share a copy of my passport which I refused to do for obvious reasons.  Being on LinkedIn was no longer that important to me to take that kind of a risk.

While there are literally millions of people on these social media forum outlets, there is an increasing opportunity for con artists to try and take advantage of those of us who are still naive and relatively trusting of other people.

0THAT TRUST WILL SOON STOP AND IN SO DOING WILL RUIN SOCIAL MEDIA FOREVER...

ChatGPT

In a complicated story from TIME, work between OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, and Sana, a San Francisco-based firm that employs people in Kenya named Sama. Sama works with some of the biggest companies in the tech industry, including Google, Meta, and Microsoft, on labeling content in images and text for explicit content.

Microsoft already has invested $1 billion into OpenAI, with a possible $10 billion more on the way. Microsoft plans to put AI into everything and reportedly leverage ChatGPT with Bing.

Sama is based in San Fran, but the work is performed by workers in Kenya, earning around $1.32 and $2 per hour. Unfortunately, to keep ChatGPT “safe” for users, OpenAI needs to feed it a lot of data from the internet, which is all unfiltered. So instead of using humans to filter out all the bad stuff, OpenAI (and companies like Meta with Facebook) employ other AI tools to remove that content from the data pool automatically.

Like the 2019 story on Facebook from The Verge, which highlighted the psychological impact of such content on the workers, Sama employees also suffered a similar fate:

“One Sama worker tasked with reading and labeling text for OpenAI told TIME he suffered from recurring visions after reading a graphic description of a man having sex with a dog in the presence of a young child. “That was torture,” he said. “You will read a number of statements like that all through the week. By the time it gets to Friday, you are disturbed from thinking through that picture.” The work’s traumatic nature eventually led Sama to cancel all its work for OpenAI in February 2022, eight months earlier than planned.”

The overall contract with Sama was $200,000, and that contract stipulated it would pay “an hourly rate of $12.50 to Sama for the work, which was between six and nine times the amount Sama employees on the project were taking home per hour.”

Later, Sama began to pilot a new project for OpenAI unrelated to ChatGPT. However, instead of text this time, it was imagery, including some illegal under US law, such as child sexual abuse, bestiality, rape, sexual slavery, and death and violence. Again, workers were to view and label the content so that OpenAI’s systems could filter out such things.  READ MORE...

I Like To Write

I have written over 42,000 short poems

I have written over 1200 opinion articles published on LinkedIn

I have written 8 fictional novels that average about 100,000 words each

I have written a dozen short stories

I have written 1 play

Am I any good at writing?

I have no idea...

Am I a published writer?

Not really although I have a few poems in a poetry anthology published in NC back in the 1970s...

Have I tried to publish my writing?  NO...

Although, I have considered looking into KDP publishing at Amazon, but I still would have to pay someone to professional edit my work and then also pay someone for cover design.

I really don't have any extra money to spend on luxury items like this...

Is that just an excuse to keep me from proceeding?  PROBABLY

I have had several people tell me my writing was good and they enjoyed it but they were not critics or creative writing instructors or publishers...  so their thresholds might have been lower than what is needed to convince me I am a talented writer.

Writing passes the time and I enjoy spending the time writing...  so, as a retired individual it is good to have something to do, rather than just vegetate away.

Besides at 75 years of age, I am not sure how long my mind will remain functional and allow me to come up with ideas about which to write.  Then what do I do?  Probably nothing...   and if that is the case then someone will be looking after me.  Can't wait!!!

In Case You Missed It - Amazon to Layoff 18,000

Amazon has announced it will cut more than 18,000 jobs from its workforce, citing “the uncertain economy” and the fact that it had “hired rapidly” during the pandemic.

“Between the reductions we made in November and the ones we’re sharing today, we plan to eliminate just over 18,000 roles,” said CEO Andy Jassy in a statement to his staff. The company had announced 10,000 layoffs in November.

The jobs to be slashed under the plan amount to 6 percent of Amazon’s roughly 300,000-person corporate workforce, the largest among recent workforce reductions that have impacted the US tech sector.

Jassy said the company’s leadership was “deeply aware that these role eliminations are difficult for people, and we don’t take these decisions lightly.

“We are working to support those who are affected and are providing packages that include a separation payment, transitional health insurance benefits, and external job placement support,” he said.

Some of the layoffs would be in Europe, Jassy said, adding that the impacted workers would be informed starting on January 18.  READ MORE...

Don't Much Care For Politicians

I don't care much for Republicans or Democrats or Independents, Socialists, or progressives...  in fact, you might just say, I don't trust nor do I like any politician...   it's just their political behavior that gets under my skin...  like they are all dirty somehow and need to wash the political shit off their bodies.

What amazes me is how the Democrats actually just lie outright without any concerns at all...

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will both tell you to your face that our SOUTHERN BORDERS are secure...  YET...  the people who work down there or live down there will tell you they are lying.

Mainstream media does not seem to give a shit about Biden's lies...  and, that bothers me just as much as the lies do.

When President Biden took classified documents out of the white house and to his home, he said he made a mistake and was sorry...

When Biden was Vice President he took classified documents out of the white house to his home and now as President is saying that he is sorry.

When Biden was a Senator he took classified documents out of Congress and to his home and now as President is saying that he is sorry.

Does Biden think the American people are stupid???

Did Biden lie to people to take these documents home as President?

Did Biden lie to people to take these documents home when he was Vice President?

Did Biden lie to people to take these documents home when he was a Senator?

Removing classified documents from their places of origins seems to be an ongoing mode of operation for the President.

He cannot be that stupid not to know what he is doing...  and if he is, should he be president?

I would say that ALL POLITICIANS know exactly what they are doing when they are doing it...  so, don't let them fool you.
