House Illegal Immigrants in Private Homes
New York City Mayor Eric Adams proposed his vision to house illegal immigrants in "faith-based locales" and private residences on Monday.
"There are residents who are suffering right now because of economic challenges," Adams, a Democrat, said. "They have spare rooms. They have locales, and if we can find a way to get over the 30-day rule and other rules that government has in place, we can take their $4.2 billion, $4.3 [billion]. It may be now that we potentially have to spend."
Adams's call to action comes as New York City battles a rise in illegal immigrants flooding the city.
The city has helped support at least 72,000 immigrants, and over 46,000 still remain under the care of the city, according to a statement from the mayor's office. READ MORE...

Monkeypox Outbreak in US
On June 13, a man in New York began to feel ill.
"He starts to experience swollen lymph nodes and rectal discomfort," says epidemiologist Keletso Makofane, who's at Harvard University.
The man suspects he might have monkeypox. He's a scientist, and knowledgeable about the signs and symptoms, Makofane says. So the man goes to his doctor and asks for a monkeypox test. The doctor decides, instead, to test the man for common sexually transmitted diseases. All those come back negative.
"A few days later, the pain worsens," Makofane says. So he goes to the urgent care and again asks for a monkeypox test. This time, the provider prescribes him antibiotics for a bacterial infection.
"The pain becomes so bad, and starts to interfere with his sleep," Makofane says. "So this past Sunday, he goes to the emergency room of a big academic hospital in New York."
At this point the man has a growth inside his rectum, which is a symptom of monkeypox. At the hospital, he sees both an ER doctor and an infectious disease specialist. Again, the man asks for a monkeypox test. But the specialist rebuffs the request and says "a monkeypox test isn't indicated," Makofane says. Instead, the doctor speculates that the man might have colon cancer. READ MORE...

Nowhere But Here
I was born in Raleigh, NC but shortly afterwards moved to just outside of Alexandria, VA, then high school in Cairo, Egypt and back to Elon College, NC for college and to live until 1989. However, there was a brief stint of 2 years in Norfolk, VA when I served in the US Navy. In 1990, I moved to East TN where I lived in Greeneville, Morristown, Chattanooga, Dandridge, and Jefferson City... I have been in Jefferson City, TN since 2001 and will more than likely remain here for the rest of my life...
Every morning, I watch FOX NEWS and every morning I am not just thankful but grateful for having the motivation and the good sense to move to East TN and have no desire to live anywhere else.
FOX NEWS shares with me about all the violence and crime that is taking place in California, Oregon, and Washington including Chicago, New York City, Washington DC, Baltimore, and Atlanta just to name a few states and cities.
FOX NEWS shares with me about all the LOCKDOWNS that are going on around the country and the fact that many states and cities are mandating not just facemasks but requiring people to show PROOF of VACCINATION... now, while I have had both my Moderna vaccinations including a Moderna booster, I resent and reject the idea that I should have to show PROOF of what I have done.
FOX NEWS shares with me about all the ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS that are coming across our southern borders, none of these immigrants are being tested for COVID nor are they being required to show proof of vaccination... WHY NOT? But... I am still very much thankful that very few of these illegal immigrants are being shipped to East TN.
As a Vietnam Veteran, I am embarrassed by the way we left Afghanistan, not just the lack of leadership that was on display but because all of our allies now question our ability and desire to protect them and stand with them against their enemies...
East TN State University
Not only is the weather in East TN very mild during the winter months, but there is no state income tax... and, on average, East TN is 10-12% cheaper to live than anywhere else in the US... for example, a couple can live very comfortable on $3,000 to $3,500 per month without debt, but this includes an apartment rent or mortgage of $1,200/month.
Why in the hell would I want to live somewhere else?
HOWEVER... I do not have...
- the broadway plays of NYC
- the expensive restaurants of NYC
- the subways of NYC
- the expansive public transportation
- the volume of people of large cities
- the smog of large cities
- the crime and violence of large cities
- the cold winters of the north
- the high constant humidity of the south
- the problem that illegal immigrants bring with them
Of course... I am retired... so, there may not be the needs that I would have were I still working... but, I worked here in East TN for 25 years, and while my salary was less that what I might have earned in other places, I still live a comfortable middle class existence and had very little in terms of wants and desires...
One of the key things that I encountered when I moved from NC to TN in 1990 was the fact that in NC my skills and abilities were a dime a dozen but in TN, I was in very high demand because of my skills and abilities... that is a good feeling to have professionally.
I am glad that I want to live NOWHERE BUT HERE...

English Law Effects US Gun Control
A medieval English law dating back nearly seven centuries is now at the heart of the most important US Supreme Court gun case in a decade.
The case - which stems from a New York legal battle - challenges a state law that requires that gun users who want a concealed carry permit first prove they have a valid reason.
To help them determine how broad the rights of America's many gun owners go, the country's nine supreme court judges are also looking back to the 1328 Statute of Northampton, which dates back to the reign of Edward III.
Here's what we know.
What's the case?
On Wednesday, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the case of the New York Rifle and Pistol Association v Bruen, which revolves around New York's laws governing concealed carry licenses.
The laws require that residents who want a license to carry a concealed pistol must prove they have "proper cause" for it and that they face "a special or unique" level of danger.
The plaintiffs in the case, Robert Nash and Brandon Koch, applied for a concealed carry permit but were denied, although they were given licenses that allow them to carry guns for recreational purposes such as hunting and target shooting.
With the support of the New York Rifle and Pistol Association - which is affiliated with the National Rifle Association (NRA) - in 2018 Mr Nash and Mr Koch filed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of New York's "proper cause" requirement and handgun regulations.
Their case was dismissed by a federal court in New York, a decision that was affirmed by an appeals court. This, in turn, led the Supreme Court to hear the case. READ MORE...

Remembering
Whenever I hear politicians, Democrats or Republicans, say that 9/11 happened because WE LOVE FREEDOM... I cringe with anger... because that is not true at al...
The United States of America has a big problem trying to FORCE DEMOCRACRY on the rest of the world, especially in the Middle East among the ARABS who are MUSLIM and their faith is mainly ISLAM and they DON'T WANT OUR FREEDOM to be a part of their country and their beliefs...

Home
So, what does "home" mean to me?
Home means what I own... this includes "renting" if it is considered to be a somewhat permanent residence as sometimes renting is a more preferable financial arrangement than owning since with owning one is responsible for repairs and preventive maintenance.
Home is my personal permanent residence where I live... it gives me security and shelter and a since of serenity when it comes to getting away from the public. I say public because the public is basically a group of people whose only agenda concerns themselves and they appear not to give a damn about other people.
It bothers me that people are like that now because this behavior is what I typically have associated with NEW YORKERS.... and, I say New Yorkers because this is exactly what I experienced every single time I visited New York and I have visited New York a couple of dozen times.
This behavior was not seen or experienced in the SOUTH... but now, it appears that this behavior is EVERYWHERE in the USA.
