China, Russia, North Korea Threats to USA
The United States is expected to face a "complex" security environment and will need to work to confront two "critical" strategic challenges—rising powers, like China, seeking dominance in the global order— and challenges like climate change—which could "intersect" and intensify their national security implications, the U.S. intelligence community assessed.
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence on Wednesday released its 2023 annual threat assessment, which warned of threats against the U.S. posed by China, Russia, North Korea and Iran. It also warned of global challenges like climate change and evolving technologies that could have the potential to "disrupt" traditional business and society, while creating "unprecedented vulnerabilities."
"These two strategic challenges will intersect and interact in unpredictable ways, leading to mutually reinforcing effects that could challenge our ability to respond, but that also will introduce new opportunities to forge collective action with allies and partners, including non-state actors," the report states. Suppressing China Will Not Make American Great
China's foreign minister says China-US relations have "seriously deviated" while warning of potential conflict.
"Containment and suppression will not make America great. It will not stop the rejuvenation of China," said Qin Gang. (above)
Mr Qin, China's former ambassador to the US, held his first press conference as foreign minister on Tuesday.
The spy balloon saga has heightened tensions between the superpowers despite recent efforts to improve ties.
"It [the US] regards China as its primary rival and the most consequential geopolitical challenge. This is like the first button in the shirt being put wrong," said Mr Qin, speaking on the sidelines of the annual meeting of China's parliament in Beijing.
The foreign minister was responding to a question on whether a healthy China-US relationship was still possible as differences between the countries grew.
The US called for establishing "guardrails", but what it really wants is for China to not hit back with words or actions when provoked, Mr Qin added.
He was referring to US President Joe Biden's comments last month that the US would "compete fully with China but [is] not looking for conflict".
Mr Qin said: "If the US does not put on the brakes and continues to roar down the wrong road, no amount of guardrails can stop the derailment and overturning, and it is bound to fall into conflict and confrontation. Who will bear its disastrous consequences?"
He also said the diplomatic crisis caused by the balloon incident could have been averted but the US acted with "the presumption of guilt".
Washington has previously described the suspected spy balloon as a "clear violation of US sovereignty". Beijing admitted the object belonged to them, but said it was a civilian airship blown off-course. READ MORE...
Offensive Names of Sports Teams
I think all sports fans and most everybody else will get a kick out of this letter written to the Chicago Tribune. No matter which side you are on in the matter of renaming the Washington Redskins, this is funny.
This is an e-mail sent to Clarence Page of the Chicago Tribune after an article he published concerning a name change for the Washington Redskins.
Dear Mr. Page:
I agree with our Native American population. I am highly jilted by the racially charged name of the Washington Redskins. One might argue that to name a professional football team after Native Americans would exalt them as fine warriors, but nay, nay. We must be careful not to offend, and in the spirit of political correctness and courtesy, we must move forward.
Let's ditch the Kansas City Chiefs, the Atlanta Braves and the Cleveland Indians.
The Carolina Panthers obviously were named to keep the memory of militant Blacks from the 60's alive. Gone. It's offensive to us white folk.
The New York Yankees offend the Southern population. Do you see a team named for the Confederacy? No! There is no room for any reference to that tragic war that cost this country so many young men's lives.
I am also offended by the blatant references to the Catholic religion among our sports team names. Totally inappropriate to have the New Orleans Saints, the Los Angeles Angels or the San Diego Padres.
Then there are the team names that glorify criminals who raped and pillaged. We are talking about the horrible Oakland Raiders, the Minnesota Vikings, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Pittsburgh Pirates!
Now, let us address those teams that clearly send the wrong message to our children. The San Diego Chargers promote irresponsible fighting or even spending habits.
The Milwaukee Brewers. Well that goes without saying. Wrong message to our children.
So, there you go.
As a die-hard Oregon State fan, my wife and I, with all of this in mind, suggest it might also make some sense to change the name of the Oregon State women's athletic teams to something other than "the Beavers (especially when they play Southern California. Do we really want the Trojans sticking it to the Beavers???
I always love your articles and I generally agree with them. As for the Redskins name I would suggest they change the name to the "Foreskins" to better represent their community, paying tribute to the dick heads in Washington DC.
Black Breavement Leave Due to Racism
WTF??? was my first reaction... and then the more I thought about what she was asking for, the more I realized that her request was actually perpetuating racism here in the USA because she was distinguishing between whites and blacks rather than seeing us as all citizens of the USA.
How funny is that???
I recall being asked to attend the opening reception of a gala event to be held at the African American Cultural Center on the campus of Harvard University...
African American not American...
Think about that for a moment... African American is again differientating between white americans and black americans who just happen to be Africans... or is there a difference...
Again, by having African American Cultural Centers we are by title implying that these centers do not apply to WHITES...
AIN'T THAT RACIMS???
Should we start raising money for:
- Catholic American Cultural Centers
- Italian American Cultural Centers
- Irish American Cultural Centers
- Southern American Cultural Center
- Country Clubs
- Resort Areas
- Disneyland Park
- Restrooms (wait a minute - we did that before)
- Airline Flights
- A black governor
- A white governor
- White drivers
- Black drivers
- Black Only Movies
- White Only Movies
Climate Religion's Dirty Little Secret
Strive Asset Management co-founder and Executive Chairman Vivek Ramaswamy (above), who announced his bid as a GOP 2024 presidential candidate, joined "Sunday Morning Futures" to discuss how the climate religion is shackling America and why it needs to be abandoned.
MARIA BARTIROMO: … The Biden administration's main priority is the climate change agenda. This is a whole of government approach, and it has impacted the national security of being oil independent, energy independent.
VIVEK RAMASWAMY: … I mean, you think about actually handing $40 billion-plus to Ukraine with one hand at the same time that Biden was lobbying actually the EU from its Russian oil import ban. The reason is because we've shot our own fossil fuel industry in the foot, and it is because of this climate religion, but the dirty little secret, Maria [Bartiromo], that not a lot of people know is the climate religion actually has nothing to do with the climate. It is all about power, control, dominion and apologizing for America's own success. And the reason why is that this religion looks the other way when PetroChina picks up the projects that American companies drop. Last time I checked, it was global climate change, and also it's hostile to nuclear energy, which is truly bizarre because that's the best form of carbon-free energy production known to mankind. The problem for them is that nuclear energy might be too good at solving their alleged problem.
… What they really want to do is punish America and establish this agenda of global equity, which also allows China to catch up to us, and I think it's important we have a president who sees through that. Republicans dance around this issue a little bit too delicately. I say it expressly: we need to abandon climate religion in America. Yeah, that's the easiest step to unshackle our economy.

Next Gen Chip Has Two Heads
The chip combines two functions — logic operations and data storage — into a single architecture, paving the way to more efficient devices.
Engineers have developed a next-generation circuit that allows for smaller, faster, and more energy-efficient devices that could have major benefits for artificial intelligence systems. The technology uses a 2D material for a logic-in-memory architecture, or a single architecture that combines logic operations with a memory function.
Until now, the energy efficiency of computer chips has been limited by the von Neumann architecture currently used where data processing and data storage take place in two separate units. That means data must constantly be transferred between the two units, using up a considerable amount of time and energy. By combining the two units into a single structure, engineers can reduce these losses. The new chip is made from MoS2, a 2D material consisting of a single layer that’s only three atoms thick. It’s also an excellent semiconductor. The engineers found that MoS2 is particularly well-suited to electronics applications.
The chip is based on floating-gate field-effect transistors (FGFETs) that can hold electric charges for long periods; they are typically used in flash memory systems for cameras, smartphones, and computers. The unique electrical proprieties of MoS2 make it particularly sensitive to charges stored in FGFETs, which is what enabled the engineers to develop circuits that work as both memory storage units and programmable transistors. By using MoS2, they were able to incorporate numerous processing functions into a single circuit and then change them as desired.
The circuit design can reduce the energy loss associated with transferring data between memory units and processors, cut the amount of time needed for computing operations, and shrink the amount of space required. That opens the door to devices that are smaller, more powerful, and more energy efficient. For more information, contact Sarah Perrin at sarah.perrin@epfl.ch
The USA is Corrupt Through and Through
BOLD STATEMENT?
Yes.
But nonetheless an accurate one.
The USA is the most powerful country in the world today and will remain that way FOREVER.
Our FREEDOMS are the most powerful in the entire world including the fact that those freedoms make it very conducive for corruption, deceit, lying, and withholding information.
No country in the world, no individual in the world, no group of individuals in the world have the COWBOY INDEPENDENT MENTALIY that US citizens have.
The rest of the world may have us beat on CRIME SYNDICATES like the Sicilian Mafia, the Russian Mafia, the IRA, Middle Eastern Terrorists, the Yakuza, and the Mexican Drug Cartels to name a few...
CRIME IS NOT THE SAME AS CORRUPTION...
Hell, just about anyone can be a criminal... It does not take any intelligence at all except the smarts to avoid getting captured and sent to jail and even in jail these criminals can control their crime syndicates.
CORRUPTION requires a little more finese... especially if you are a politician.
Corruption in business is relatively simple for an MBA graduate from one of the IVY league schools.
Corruption in the medical profession is relative easy with the pharmaceutical companies.
Corruption in the Church is almost as easy as body surfing at Myrtle Beach, SC or Long Beach, CA.
Corruption in our colleges and universities is almost unstoppable as they raise tuition even though they have gigantic endowments... and professors are easily bribed for grades, especially if they are on tenure.
Local governments are corrupt as County and City Commissioners take bribes to award contracts because there really is no OVERSIGHT.
Employees of business and industry are corrupt because they steal office supplies.
Law enforcement officers are corrupt because they don't give tickets to people they know and arrest people based upon their race.
Parents are corrupt because they lie on their taxes, break the speed limits, and have affairs on their spouses.
The United States of America is just corrupt in all aspects of its life and society while criticising other countries for doing the same thing they are...
And, who are the most corrupt people in the USA?
US Congressmen/women and Senators
Electric Vehicles VERSUS Hydrogen Vehicles
Transportation will definitely suffer some major changes in the next few decades. Carmakers are looking at all potential energy sources at the cost of abandoning gas-powered technologies, which, as we know, has a great impact in terms of carbon emissions. Although there might be a possible rivalry between the energy source, we can say that overall, whether it's hydrogen or electric, zero-emission vehicles are now starting to take over the market.
Both have advantages and both have disadvantages, distinguishing characteristics, and various development methods. Some of them are being implemented without even having the necessary market competitiveness and even without adequate infrastructure. Be it as it may, customers will most certainly have to choose between electric and hydrogen automobiles in a few years when they replace their current diesel or gas-powered car.
But now the question is, which one is better? Which is cheaper or safer? Let's review the pros and cons of acquiring either an electric or hydrogen-powered car.
Both electric cars and hydrogen cars bring improvements in terms of carbon gas emissions and also in performance, but they also have their own complications.
Compared to EVs, hydrogen-powered vehicles have some benefits. They have a 300-mile range, while EVs have a range of roughly 200 miles and in cold conditions, the EV range decreases, while the range of hydrogen-powered vehicles does not. Most critically, a hydrogen engine produces only pure water vapor as exhaust. As a result, there are no emissions.

Racism
A thought-provoking passage written by an Englishman about the current situation in HIS homeland - this is thought provoking and is equally relevant in any other (once) white country.
I have been wondering about why whites are racists, and no other race is? There are British Africans, British Chinese, British Asian, British Turks, etc, etc, etc. And then there are just British. You know what I mean, plain ole English people that were born here. You can include the Welsh, the Scottish and the people who live off our shores of Great Britain.
You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you. So why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live? You have the Muslim Council of Great Britain. You have Black History Month. You have swimming pools for Asian women. You have Islamic banks for Muslims only. You have year of the dragon day for Chinese people. If we had a White Pride Day, you would call us racists. If we had White History Month, we'd be racists. If we had any organization for only whites to 'advance' OUR lives, we'd be racists.
A white woman could not be in the Miss Black Britain or Miss Asia, but any colour can be in the Miss UK. If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships, you know we'd be racists. There are over 200 openly proclaimed Muslim only schools in England. Yet if there were 'White schools only', that would be racist! In the Bradford riots and Toxteth riots, you believed that you were standing-up for your race and rights. If we stood-up for our race and rights, you would call us racists. You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.
We fly our flag, we are racists. If we celebrate St George's day we are racists You can fly your flag and it’s called diversity. You celebrate your cultures and it’s called multiculturalism. You rob us, carjack us, and rape our daughters. But, when a white police officer arrests a black gang member or beats up an Asian drug dealer running from the law and posing a threat to society, you call him a racist. I am proud... but you call me a racist. Why is it that only whites can be racists?? There is nothing improper about this e-mail. Let's see which of you are proud enough to send it on.
I sadly don't think many will. That's why we have LOST most of OUR RIGHTS in this country. We won't stand up for ourselves!
BEING PROUD TO BE WHITE! It's not a crime, YET.. but its getting very close!
Why Are People Moving Out of California?
California houses a lot of iconic sites, great scenery, luxurious infrastructure, dreamy beaches, and unique employment opportunities. In addition, its economy ranks 5th in the world. But the question is, why then are lots of people moving out of California?
A recent study by UC Berkeley revealed that over half of the residents of California are looking into moving.
The state’s population has been reducing because of national migration since 2000; however, natural population increase and international migration have kept California’s population growing at a 0.35% rate as of 2016.
Below are our best estimations of what a California resident could consider when planning a move, and where the calculation might land them.
Almost 700,000 people relocate out of California just last year. There are different reasons for even permanent residents of California to leave the state and move out of it.
1. High Cost of Living
California is an expensive place to live. The cost-demanding moving candidates start from people in financial issues to those on a constant income, such as retirees and a new group formed in the pandemic time – an employee who can work remotely.
Consider what an interstate ‘price parity’ cost of living index of California from the Federal Bureau of Economic Analysis reveals to us about affordable moving possibilities, it shows the state is expensive to live.
2. Rising State Taxes
The marginal income tax rate is currently at 13.3% but legislators want to increase it to almost 17%. The move would not just affect rich residents of California but also small entrepreneurs, most of whom are facing challenges related to COVID-19 lockdowns and shutdowns. The sales tax is more than 7% already and there is a $0.50 gas tax.
Furthermore, residents of California are not even allowed to deduct most of their state taxes from their federal taxes all thanks to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act by President Trump. Even though taxes in other states are high, California is one of the two states with a tax rate of more than 10% (the other is Hawaii). What that means in real life is highlighted below:
Simply put, someone who makes $50,000 per annum would be paying $9,679 in state and federal taxes. Someone who makes $100,000 per year would have to spend $28,923. Those that make $500,000 per annum would be paying a huge $210,949.
To complicate the matter, state legislators in California are now discussing retroactive taxes as well as an exit tax for rich residents of the state who leave California for another state. AB2088 doesn’t only seek to create a wealth tax in California but also force rich old California residents to pay the tax for nearly 10 years after they’ve left.
3. Political Problems
A lot of residents of California are in support of the policies of their state. However, a lot of conservative and even reasonable voters feel that California is moving too far to the left. Ben Shapiro, a conservative journalist talked about his personal decision to move out of state, stating increasing union influence, limitation on law enforcement officials, looting, and the stop to standardized testing in state universities as some of the factors that aid his decision to relocate to another state.
Others mentioned that they feel that their votes in California don’t count while others still complain that politicians focus on the needs of large cities while leaving the needs and wishes of residents of rural areas unattended. COVID-19 restrictions in the state have placed an extra strain on residents. 19 percent of California workers had filed for unemployment as of April 2020.
Even though some industries have resumed operation, others are affected by continued restrictions. Restricted businesses include gyms, restaurants, personal care services, bars, hospitality, and the tourism industry. Other states don’t have so many COVID-19-related lockdowns as California does, which causes many business owners to seriously look into leaving the state to another one where they have hope of attaining success in their business.
4. Unemployment
Not everyone considering a move is just being cost-conscious. Job opportunity and wage levels are huge factors for others who know that highly affordable states usually come with lesser incomes. To calculate opportunities, We considered the annual average wages from the second quarter of 2020, making a national pay scale.
The maximum national average wages were seen in Massachusetts at $81,640, then $79,040 in New York. California ranked 3rd at $76,336 and is an important reason many people stay. On the fourth position was Washington at $74,048, Connecticut at $73,164, and New Jersey at $71,552. Many factors affect the value of those incomes.
Begin with being able to keep a job. Consider the average unemployment rates from 2015 to 2019 and you find North Dakota as the state in which you don’t have many risks of losing a job with a median 2.7% unemployment rate. Hawaii was the next and New Hampshire at 2.8%, Nebraska and Vermont were at 3%, followed by Iowa and South Dakota at 3.1%.
