Air Conditioning Will Not Save Us

It keeps happening. Every summer, unprecedented heat surges through cities across the United States—in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho; in Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio; and in Maryland, Virginia, and New Jersey. Last week, a heat wave melted records in Texas with unrelenting highs well into the 100s for days.

And just when residents need it most, the electrical grid fails. Every year, hundreds die from heat-related illness in the U.S., and thousands more end up in emergency rooms from heat stress. Compared to other weather-related disasters, the emergency response to extreme heat from U.S. leaders has been minimal. As a result, many places remain unprepared. How, then, do we make our cities more resilient?

The urban heat crisis is not confined to North America, of course. Extreme heat kills more people than any other climate disaster on the planet, including hurricanes, floods, and wildfires. In the U.K., temperatures are reaching 104ºF for the first time in recorded history, and the heat is stoking wildfires across Europe.

In India, cities inhabited for centuries are now unlivable with highs of 123ºF. And, driven largely by carbon emissions from the developed world, climate change is making it worse.

Heat waves are getting hotter, they’re happening more often, and they’re lasting longer. Currently, 2.2 billion people—that’s 30% of the world’s population—now experience life-threatening heat during at least 20 days of the year, and scientists predict that heat could threaten as many as 66% of human lives by the end of the century.

Unlike more cinematic violence, heat is invisible, even as it’s more immediate and widespread. That also makes it more dangerous. Nothing but the massive reduction of fossil fuels will slow this trend.  READ MORE...

High Gas Prices

The Democrats want to push all Americans and those who live within her borders, towards electric vehicles since the price of gasoline has doubled since Biden has been our President.

First of all, the USA is not fully prepared to go 100% EV because it would take several years for our companies to manufacture them.

Second, there are not enough charging stations to accommodate all Americans to charge their vehicles and it would also take several years to build those stations

Third, the electric grid for the USA is not powerful enough to support that many EVs plus provide power to all the homes and businesses, and other places that needed electricity to operate.

Fourth, the components to build electric vehicles come from overseas and there is simply not enough supply for all the EVs we need, especially since the Democrats are trying to push solar panels as well.

Fifth, until the cost of purchasing an EV becomes affordable, the average American who is making $50,000 a year, is not going to be able to afford those cars.

Therefore, most Americans will simply keep their gasoline cars and pay the high price for gasoline but in order to make it work for them, they will simply drive less...  not only will their drive less, but they will also spend less money on other items like clothes, restaurants, and vacations because they are spending so much for gasoline.

When Americans start doing this, finding alternative sources because the Democrats have decided they want to end fossil fuel TODAY...  the reduction of spending will have the opposite effect that the stimulus money had on the economy...  and, the USA will plunge into a recession.

What is really going to be interesting is when we are in this recession, how are we going to be able to provide resources to all those illegal immigrants that we allowed into the country for the last two years?  These illegals will need:

  • Food
  • Housing
  • Education
  • Clothes
  • Medical
And, I would be willing to bet that they damn sure don't have the money to buy an EV and make the Democrats happy.

As the Democrats screw up our economy because of their desire to go GREEN...  other countries, like our ENEMIES, for instance, are not going GREEN and that will enable those economies to grow and prosper while our economy is shrinking...  These countries are:
  • China
  • Russia
  • India
  • Pakistan
  • Middle East (all countries)
  • North Korea
I am confident that our enemies will be sympathetic concerning what the Democrats are trying to do with our country...

Do you know how many countries out there want the USA to fail because we tried to force them to live like us???

Our US Electric Grid

CNN: As heat ramps up ahead of what forecasters say will be a hotter than normal summer, electricity experts and officials are warning that states may not have enough power to meet demand in the coming months. And many of the nation’s grid operators are also not taking climate change into account in their planning, even as extreme weather becomes more frequent and more severe.

All of this suggests that more power outages are on the way, not only this summer but in the coming years as well.

Power operators in the Central US, in their summer readiness report, have already predicted “insufficient firm resources to cover summer peak forecasts.” That assessment accounted for historical weather and the latest NOAA outlook that projects for more extreme weather this summer.

But energy experts tell CNN that some power grid operators are not considering how the climate crisis is changing our weather — including more frequent extreme events — and that is a problem if the intent is to build a reliable power grid.

“The reality is the electricity system is old and a lot of the infrastructure was built before we started thinking about climate change,” said Romany Webb, a researcher at Columbia University’s Sabin Center for Climate Change Law. “It’s not designed to withstand the impacts of climate change.”

Webb says many power grid operators use historical weather to make investment decisions, rather than the more dire climate projections, simply because they want to avoid the possibility of financial loss for investing in what might happen versus what has already happened. She said it’s the wrong approach and it makes the grid vulnerable.  READ MORE...
