Life in a Bubble

Most of us live in our own little bubble in a region of the US, in a state in that region, in a county in that state, and/or in a city in that state.  Our behavior and thought processes are dictated the varies societies that are in and around us.

For example, we could live in a BLUE STATE but the society of the community in which we live is RED.  Now, inside that red community, we might have another society that is religious and one that is not.  We may also have a society that is educated and one that is not.

Another example is whether or not you live the east, west, north, south, or Midwest USA...  Each of those areas have their own unique societies, attitudes, philosophies, cooking methods, etc.

I remember moving from NC to TN and the phrase that caught my attention first was the use of the word YONDER...  In TN, yonder could me a foot or so away or several miles depending upon the intent of the speaker.

Veterans have a different society than non-veterans and disabled veterans have a different society than non-disabled veterans...  Just like blacks, whites, Hispanics, males, females, professional athletes, musicians, entertainers, and Hollywood celebrities.

My life changed as did that of my wife when we retired ten years ago.  Once you have retired, you are no longer part of the labor force no matter how hard you try...  You are just not working and therefore you are just not accepted.  You may still have friends who are working but they treat you differently now.

None of this is intentional...  it is just the way it is.
