Cosmic Consciousness

Cosmoconsciousness, or cosmic consciousness, is a term used to characterize a transcendence of the limits of self-consciousness. As an ultra-state of illumination of the mind, the roots of the conception are embodied in the quest for a spiritual connection with multi-dimensional cosmos. SOURCE: Cambridge Scholars Publishing

There are a couple of issues with this statement that we have to understand.

First - do you think humans can transcend the limits of self-consciousness?

Second - do you believe there is a multi-dimensional cosmos?

Once these first two are understood and theoretically accepted, the next step is how do you get there?

For many, the journey to experiencing cosmic consciousness involves practices such as yoga, meditation, prayer and acts of faith. It is said that in a state of Cosmic Consciousness, the human mind is elevated beyond the awareness of the self and the ego, and enters a place of oneness and unity with the universe.

However, that is easier said than done...

There are Buddha and Hindu priests that spend their entire lifetimes in meditation trying to attain a state of cosmic consciousness.

Obviously, you are not going to spend your entire lifetime as much of that has already passed.

Besides, it is very difficult getting beyond our own EGOS and it is very difficult trying to eliminate our minds of all thoughts.

We are an achievement oriented, goal oriented, wealth-oriented society that has been indoctrinated in us all from a very early age.

These orientations must be the first to go...

The Cynical Philosopher

I read that 4,153,237 people got married last year, not to cause any trouble but shouldn't that be an even number?

I find it ironic that the colors red, white, and blue stand for freedom until they are flashing behind you.

When wearing a bikini, women reveal 90% of their body... men are so polite they only look at the covered parts.

Relationships are a lot like algebra. Have you ever looked at your X and wondered Y?

America is a country which produces citizens who will cross the ocean to fight for democracy but won't cross the street to vote.

You know that tingly little feeling you get when you love someone? That's your common sense leaving your body.

Did you know that dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish?

My therapist says I have a preoccupation with vengeance. We'll see about that.

I think my neighbor is stalking me as she's been googling my name on her computer. I saw it through my telescope last night.

Money talks... all mine ever says is "good-bye".

You're not fat, you're just... easier to see.

If you think nobody cares whether you're alive, try missing a couple of payments.

If you think you might be crazy, you’re not; because crazy people don’t think they are crazy.

I always wondered what the job application is like at Hooters. Do they just give you a D-cup bra and say, “Here, fill this out?”

I can’t understand why women are okay that JC Penny has an older women’s clothing line named, “Sag Harbor.”

My therapist said that my narcissism causes me to misread social situations. I’m pretty sure she was hitting on me.

My 65 year kindergarten reunion is coming up soon and I’m worried about the 175 pounds I’ve gained since then.

Denny’s has a slogan, “If it’s your birthday, the meal is on us.” If you’re in Denny’s and it’s your birthday, the chances are excellent that your life sucks!

The pharmacist asked me my birth date again today. I’m pretty sure she’s going to get me something.

The location of your mailbox shows you how far away from your house you can be in a robe before you start looking like a mental patient.

I think it's pretty cool how Asian people made a language entirely out of tattoos.

Money can’t buy happiness, but it keeps the kids in touch!

The reason the TV show about the small mid-western town of "Mayberry" was so peaceful and quiet was because almost nobody was married. Andy, Aunt Bea, Barney, Floyd, Howard, Goober, Gomer, Sam, Earnest T. Bass, Helen, Thelma Lou, Clara and, of course, Opie were all single. The only married person was Otis, and he stayed drunk ALL the time.

King Tides Swamp Pacific Coast

Mega high tides known as king tides are hitting beaches Feb. 9, giving a glimpse at what future sea level rise could mean for coastal towns and shorelines across California.

The California King Tides Project is asking for people to document the coast for a citizen-science project that aims to give decision-makers a look at how to address sea-level rise in future years.

Many beaches will be swallowed by salt water in the early morning hours Friday, Feb. 9, with tides reaching 6.6 feet high at about 8 a.m.     READ MORE...

Bosch & the Hydrogen Engine in 2024

The German automaker Bosch announced its plan to launch its first hydrogen engine for trucks and construction equipment in 2024, which will be part of its existing fuel cell and battery-electric offerings.

Despite the gains made by EVs over the past decade, hydrogen is still a hot topic, with a handful of automakers that have developed and even fielded production hydrogen fuel-cell models. You can probably guess right away just which automakers we’re talking about: Toyota, BMW, and Honda.

Despite the huge success of electric vehicles (EVs) over the past decade, automakers such as BMW, Toyota, and Honda still see hydrogen as a potential business in the future. As hydrogen engine technology’s popularity increases, these manufacturers have responded with innovations in the production of hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles.

Besides heavily investing in EVs, they have also been preparing for a time when all sizes of hydrogen fuel-cell cars would coexist with electric vehicles and be a significant part of the zero-emission vehicle landscape.

However, in that bright future, hydrogen models could come in more forms than just fuel-cell cars. Recently, Bosch provided more details about their ideas for a hydrogen engine, an alternative method of using hydrogen as a fuel for automobiles.   READ MORE...

AI Model launch Nukes

The U.S. military is considering the use of AI during warfare but researchers warn this may not be a good idea given AI’s predilection for nuclear war. In a series of international conflict simulations run by American researchers, AIs tended to escalate at random, leading to the deployment of nukes in multiple cases, according to Vice.

The study was a collaborative effort between four research institutions, among them Stanford University and the Hoover Wargaming and Crisis Initiative. The researchers staged a few different sequences for the AIs and found these large language models favor sudden escalation over de-escalation, even when such force as nuclear strikes was unnecessary within a given scenario.
